July 11th we will be introducing a new class called “Flash Photography 101”. This is for folks who are ready to use an external speedlight and get away from the on-camera flash and its inherent problems. The on-camera flash is fine in a pinch but anyone who has used one knows that harsh glare-ridden red eye look one often gets with it. Many folks avoid buying or using a speedlite due to the intimidation factor. Many of you may already have a shoe mount flash but either don’t have a clue on how to use it, or you have experienced poor results when you have used it. This class is designed to show you the basics of speedlight use so you can take your photography to the next level. Whether you use Nikon or Canon, the principles are the same. We will cover TTL, Manual mode, exposure compensation, fill flash, remote flash use, as well as the use of modifiers. A good flash photograph will not “scream” flash. Done correctly, no one will know you used a flash. The class will run from 7:00-9:00 PM at Peace Camera and the cost is $65.00. To register, email Jim White, call or come by the store. The class will be limited to 20 and we are already over half full so let us know ASAP if you want in on this one.
