Unleash your speed light

Quantum Turbo 3 Battery pack vs. AA Batteries…….

Those photographers out in the world complaining about their SB 900 over heating, there is a simple solution for you. You just have to just come in and see us for the answer. Mike Gordon is in visiting us today. He is our Quantum Rep. Talking with us today he threw out some numbers about how wonderful the Quantum Turbo 3 battery pack is. I was blown away and had to share them with you. First off for Video heads out there, you love your Canon 5D Mk II and your Canon 7D. How would you like to power your camera for the video for 5 hours straight? No powering down to change out batteries. Just think to yourself how much less stress you could have in your life.

Now for the really fun numbers and the reason behind the attached photo. The Quantum Turbo 3 will power your speedlight, either Canon or Nikon. What would you like to be carrying? 150 AA batteries or just one rechargeable Turbo 3? The Turbo 3 will give you 4500 TTL flashes on one charge. Use it for 7 years and just think about all the savings you have and the space the landfill has saved?

4500 flashes is just one reason to get a Turbo 3 battery. Come see us today and drop the $600 and relieve some stress.

Lomo Flash fun

After talking to a customer on the phone, i played with the Lomo Flash and had a bit of fun. It did take a bit to dial it in, but after that i was jumping around the store making pics of the crew. The ring will allow your creative spirits flow with the cool colored “Gels” to give a hint of color to your friends and family. Her are the results from this afternoon.

I was using this Ring light out of context. It really was not made to be used with a digital. It was set up with adapters for several of the Lomo Cameras. I had to hand hold the flash. With certain lenses it would be a bit awkward. With the lens I was playing with, I didn’t think it was too bad. For $65 it is a very in expensive toy. A fun little way to spice up your pictures and become the next fashion photographer here in Raleigh!

Crazy Shelley

So several web sites and magazines and every one else that is a self proclaimed camera expert have chosen the Sony A77 and the NEX 7 as the cameras of the year. They speak so highly of these cameras that one would think that photography never existed before these two cameras. But We know better. The NEX 7 has close to 2000 units on back order from the Sony distribution and the A77 is close to 1500 on back order. So it is safe to say that one could not get these two cameras and will not be seen for a long while. Indonesia had a earthquake yesterday (Peace Camera wishes those people effected semoga sukses) no telling what that will do to the rest of Asia.

Now the reason of my ranting. Since half the camera world is so in love with these two cameras no one can get, i thought i would fuel your Sony fire by offering 10% off all the New Sony Product I have on the shelf. Come get your accessories for the cameras while you lie awake at night waiting on your A77 or NEX 7.

Oh also 10% off the USED Sigma, Tamron and Quantaray Lenses in stock. 10% off a USED Nikon Mounted 70-300 lenses (Non Anti Shake Versions) Also look for the “Save the Twinkie” Group on Face book. a little side project Bryan and Shelley have started. Hostess filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. Shelley wants to single handedly safe the company. He will start the all Twinkie Diet on Friday.

Fun with Armando & Jacques

Yesterday we played with the “miniature effect” video feature on the Canon S95 P&S. Pretty cool. We wish we could do the high-speed effect without the blur of the miniature effect, but so far we haven’t figured out how. Still, add a little Benny Hill theme music and it’s a neat feature!

New Nikon Gear.

Nikon announced yesterday that a new camera is due out in the next few months.  The rumored Nikon D4 was officially announced, and now every online reviewer is now specing out the Nikon D4X or D5.  Just by numbers the D4 looks amazing.  I for one am glad they did not go crazy with the pixel count.  The Expeed 3 processor sounds awesome.  What a feat Nikon overcame.  It truly is amazing to think that a camera can now handle NEF files and Jpeg files at 11 frames per second.  That is a ton of info flying out of the camera on to a card.  WOW.

My only concern is the new memory card.  Searching the Sony web site, i could not find it at all.  The high transfer rate of it, really is not that much higher than the High end CF cards.

I invite those with 6 grand in their pocket to come in and pre order one.  We will have them, as soon as they get shipped.  Oh btw Nikon made a new 85mm f1.8G too….
